The X8 is an autonomous aerial vehicle, modified at LSTS - Underwater Systems and Technology Laboratory and is now being prepared and tested for REP 13.

Equipped with Ardupilot Mega 2.5, Wi-fi modem, and a small HD 720p camera, this vehicle will be used to find Mola-Mola at the surface, obtain an image through a live feed video stream and disseminate the operation network.

Latest tests allowed the configuration of the new controllers, test the new catapult and landing net, which will allow launch and landing in small spaces, like the boat and, validate new DUNE changes. These latter changes, allow the vehicle to loiter counter-clockwise, eliminating some constrains about the camera position.
